About Mbita Point International School

Students learn applicable life skills so that they will be prepared to take on the world even if they do not finish their formal education. In science they learn about Malaria and its transmission. Art class revolves around creating products to sell and how to bestmarket yourself. They take a first aid class in each grade, and learn basic construction in addition to their standard courses (Maths, English, Kiswahili, and Physical Education). 

The students at this school are passionate about learning and come everyday enthusiastic about the opportunity to be there. These kids know the sacrifices their families are making so they can get an education, and they do not squander it.

Helping Hand

Mbita Point International School is a primary and secondary school in Mbita, Kenya. They are located within the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology campus on the coast of Lake Victoria. The school hosts about 1,500 students starting as young as 3 years old in the play group class. 

Students attend school Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm with older students having the opportunity to come in Saturday and Sunday afternoon for additional instruction.
